Job Description

The purpose of this position is to participate in the performing of the duties of a Terminal Operator in conjunction with the duties of an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician.

In this role you will:

  1. Operate refined fuel process equipment for loading and unloading tanks

  2. Maintain awareness of personal and coworker safety and adhere to all policies and procedures

  3. Perform gauging of storage tanks and temperature readouts, and obtain product samples daily

  4. Protect product quality by performing water draws, completing testing, performing valve alignments, and assuring product receipts are performed properly

  5. Stay abreast of upcoming pipeline switches and rail car receipts while anticipating and preventing inventory problems

  6. Perform all maintenance and compliance inspections (e.g., daily, monthly, quarterly, annual), maintain required logs and report all equipment failures to supervisor

  7. Calculate and input all product inventories and daily meter readings into appropriate systems

  8. Perform daily walk around inspections to identify any safety concerns or potential risks and ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times

  9. Provide preventive and routine maintenance on various operating equipment (e.g., pumps, meters, compressors, motors, tanks, pipes, terminal building, and various other equipment)

  10. Calibrate and adjust all additive injection systems as required.

  11. Participate in On-Call rotation with operators

  12. Participate in and complete training modules, safety meetings, required learnings on company procedures and ethics

  13. Report findings to leadership on routine checks and maintenance, inspections, daily readings, testing, daily activities, etc.

  14. Complete power ratings and perform electrical labeling of all electrical starters, breakers, and electrical panels

  15. Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment

  16. Design and complete small electrical projects as needed

  17. Oversee electrical construction onsite

  18. Troubleshoot/diagnose electrical problems in the facility

  19. Utilize LO/TO and Energy isolation for safe working environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required; instrumentation and electrician-related associate or technical Degree preferred or 5+ years electrical experience in lieu of degree

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Minimum two years’ industry and/or terminal loading system experience preferred

  • PLC and Allen Bradley experience preferred

  • HAZWOPER certification preferred

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills required

  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and regulations

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience required

  • Basic electrical aptitude and experience required

  • General knowledge of bulk storage loading racks and automation systems

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to prioritize, execute tasks and meet deadlines

  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently and with a team

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to climb, bend, stoop and twist

  • Able to work outdoors and stand for long periods of time

  • Able to work evenings, weekends and odd hours as needed

  • Exposure to a variety of weather conditions and temperatures

  • Work around trucks, trailers and fuel hauling equipment

  • Able to lift up to 75 Pounds
