Job Description

Summary

Product owner responsible for the delivery of functionality for the rebuild of Pilot’s over-the-road ("OTR") billing system. This system facilitates Pilot’s OTR accounts receivable collection, cash application, customer pricing, master data, invoicing, and fleet card management.

The OTR B2B System Design and Build Product Owner is responsible for the transition to a new billing system with improved functionality and speed. This team member owns all the technology and experience capabilities required to meet business needs in the new OTR application to ensure all necessary functionality is realized and optimized.

Essential Functions

  1. Align with product vision, ensure that project or department milestones / goals are met and communicate progress effectively to stakeholders and the team

  2. Understand business and customer needs / pain points by reviewing qualitative and quantitative insights, facilitating research, and reviewing product performance for increased value

  3. Attend and play key role in all ceremonies with implementation partner and Pilot internal resources and SMEs (refinement, sprint planning, retro, stand ups, etc.)

  4. Champion the team by communicating a clean understanding of the project vision for quality design, removing roadblocks, flagging issues, and ensuring progress

  5. Presentations to Executive level team members will be required

  6. Create and manage product/project roadmaps with implementation partner:

  7. Distill product roadmap into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria

  8. Evaluate unforeseen issues, assign value, and integrate into the product roadmap

  9. Present product/project to developers to give clear vision of ask and direction

  10. Prioritize and manage sprint backlog- drive priority decisions

  11. Support developers and QA personnel as needed

  12. Develop and maintain appropriate tracking and reporting across all backlog items for enhanced visibility

  13. Master content of scope of work and hold implantation partner accountable to ensure each phase of project meets the defined deliverables

  14. Take responsibility for technical decisions that share the product roadmap that will add the most value/ROI

  15. Work closely with Credit, Accounts Receivable, Sales, Connect, Pricing, and representatives of other business verticals to ensure business case and customer satisfaction goals are met

  16. Stay up to date on and promote new technology to optimize technical functionality

  17. Collaborate and build close relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that the team’s effort is aligned with overall strategy

  18. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level

  19. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

  20. Complete other duties as assigned

  21. Will play long term leadership role of system support and ongoing enhancements once implementation is complete

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Strong experience working with technical teams (developers)

  • Strong experience with JIRA

  • Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams from tech, business, and experience leading teams in an agile setting

  • Ability to lead a development team to set strategic priorities and resolve issues

  • Strong problem solver with ability to manage and lead the team to push the solution and progress
